Solutions

The CIT framework can be used to develop information solutions tailored to your requirements whilst retaining the benifits of administration, maintainability and supportability associated with general "off the shelf" solutions. Below are several examples of solutions that have been developed and deployed.

SLA Compliance: The requirement for this solution was to measure the transaction response times, service availability and system resourse usage and present the information in a series of views. The solution measures over 2 million transactions per day and provides updated statistics every five minutes.

SNMP to HTTPS: The requirement for this solution was to enable SNMP traps to be captured in a secure envirionment and forwarded through a firewall to a third party enterprise management application. In this case the CIT probe was enabled in real time mode to listen for SNMP traps, convert them into HTTPS messages and send them, via the CIT information server outside the secure domain, to be processed by the enterprise management application.

"Agentless" System Monitoring: This solution ebables "agentless" system monitoring that is tightly integrated with agent based enterprise management applications such HP OpenView. The CIT probe operates as a virtual agent capturing both event and performance data. The CIT Information server provides an interface that makes configuring and administrating the systems managed by the CIT probes transparent to the enterprise management application.
